Tsunami Aid

In February 2005 a team from villagetovillage.net visited a fishing village in northern Andhra Pradesh that had been devestated by the Tsunami. Although the pictures show a lovely beach, many of the boats used by the fisherman were destroyed. You can see some of them grounded on the beach. They also lost their fishing nets and could no longer work until the nets were replaced. The fish they had been able to catch near land were very small. The villagers had not had proper food since the Tsunami hit on Decemer 26, 2004. Our local contacts had visited this village several times since the Tsunami hit and distributed food, medicine, and clothing. The US team were able to bring some food and relief to a village in February 2005.

We continue to look for opportunities to assist in disaster relief whenever we can.

village-wide compassion.
